Ontario Photo Card
A government-issued photo ID for Ontario residents who do not have a driver's licence. Use it to open bank accounts, prove your identity, and travel within Canada.

Get a New Ontario Photo Card
You must apply in person at a ServiceOntario centre. The Photo Card is available to Ontario residents aged 16 and older who do not hold a driver's licence.

Renew Your Photo Card
You can renew online if you do not need a new photo. A new photo is required every 10 years, and if you are due for one, you must renew in person instead.
To renew online you need:
Your new card will arrive by mail within 4 to 6 weeks.
Renew online βVisit any ServiceOntario centre to renew. You must renew in person if you need a new photo (required every 10 years). Payment options in person include Visa, Mastercard, debit, cash, and certified cheque.

You can update the address on your Photo Card online, in person at a ServiceOntario centre, or by mailing a written request (including your full name, Photo Card number, current address, and new address) to ServiceOntario, P.O. Box 9200, Kingston, ON K7L 5K4.
Change address online βAll information changes must be made in person at a ServiceOntario centre.
Height: Bring your Photo Card. No additional documents needed.
Date of birth: Bring one of the following: a birth certificate, certified statement of live birth, Canadian citizenship card with photo, certificate of Indian Status, permanent resident card, or permanent resident form (with valid foreign passport).
French characters: Bring proof of your legal name with the French characters, from the list of accepted identity documents.
Sex designation (M to F or F to M): Bring an original, valid birth certificate (long or short form). To change to X (non-binary): No documents required.
